At this point you should know two things about me: I love layering and I love styling one piece multiple ways.  I find joy in getting the most out of my clothes and dig the challenge of making things work for your budget and style!

On this week’s episode, I’m taking one of my winter staples–my trusted turtleneck– and styling it in five different looks! These are all holiday inspired and would make excellent holiday party or work outfits!

I do have to come clean and admit that I used to not like turtlenecks.  Growing up in California means that we rarely get cold weather and so it just wasn’t necessary! But when I moved to the east coast and lived in the D.C. for the first time, I was thankfully reunited with this faithful wardrobe staple.   I mean, neck coverage is KEY when you’re living in frigid temps! And so now as an adult, I love turtlenecks–they’re sleek, chic, comfortable, and add that extra layer of warmth your body so needs!

The Turtleneck

This is my favorite turtleneck of all time.  It’s smooth, sleek, warm, and just looks super professional.  I bought it last year and it kept me warm through what seemed like the looooongest winter (who remembers?!) and is still one of my favorite pieces! Even in California–ha! I highly recommend this piece as it’s great quality and comes in so many versatile colors.

Outfit #1: Holiday Workwear

Confession: this red blazer is about five years old. Can you believe it?! I remember buying it during my second year of teaching because I wanted to “up” my professional look. Blazers are the easiest way to do that and I’m pretty proud of this purchase.  It’s held up over time and still looks great! Would you believe me if I told you it’s from Forever 21 too?! Well, my friends.. IT IS! I love adding the colorful blazer paired with the plaid pants. The plaid has a hint of red in it so it complements it nicely.  My boots are a red/brown which also complements the color palette of this ensemble.  Everything I’m wearing is restyled and was purchased at least one year ago! Because of that, I don’t have exact links for the blazer, pants, or shoes..but here are some similar options!

Outfit #2: Christmas Gift

Who else loves dressing like a Christmas gift?! Haha, I actually surprised myself with this look! I pulled this dress from the end of the closet and realized how perfect it was for a holiday look! It’s originally a summer dress from Target and you can see how I wore it this summer here. The dress is unfortunately not sold anymore but here are a few similar options!

Outfit #3: Velvet Dream

I’m bringing my favorite velvet midi from last year back! There’s something so luxurious about velvet. It’s perfect for the holidays, adds a little of the sexy touch, and oh so classy.  I belted the dress with my favorite FUCCI belt (fake Gucci LOL) and boom! Instant holiday look. My dress is from Uniqlo and unfortunately, they did not bring it back this year.  But here are other similar options!

Outfit #4: Monochromatic Grey

Honestly, this plaid suit combo doesn’t get old for me.  I love the monochromatic look–it gives me that sleek, professional, boss lady vibe and I’m loving it! This is an awesome work outfit idea or even holiday party outfit! Put on the bold red lip and you’re ready to go! My blazer is from Target last year–I’ve linked some similar options for you. Pants are linked above!

Outfit #5: Business Casual

Business up top, party down bottom. LOL. Okay, not really..but you get the idea. I swapped out the plaid pants for my favorite flared dark wash jeans from Loft.  These jeans were also purchased 5 years ago (I KNOW, RIGHT?!) and are SO flattering. I have not found a pair of jeans like these so I’m hanging onto them for dear life!

Aaaaaand we made it to the end! Not going to lie, that was a lot of looks I packed with this one turtleneck and I probably could have kept going! If you’re on the east coast, adding layers like tights, leggings, coats, and scarves can certainly work and would be so cute as well! I hope these outfits inspire you to whip out your old turtleneck and breathe it some life or that it inspires you to go out and buy one this season!

Thank you for reading sweet friends! Leave me a comment and let me know what look you liked the most! And if you have any ideas on what I should style next, drop me a comment! WHAT’S MY NEXT STYLE CHALLENGE?!
